Lisa Africano

Interior Designer

Allied ASID

Lisa is an interior designer and project manager at Shelter Architecture. Her love of beauty, balance and art discovered through years of travel — along with a theatrical background — drove her to pursue her passion for design. Lisa has built a portfolio of inspiring work in both residential and commercial settings. She has a talent for visionary concepts, is an accomplished furniture and accessory consultant, and can create backdrop decisions for a complete design project. When working as a project manager, she is as comfortable on a construction site as she is in a well-appointed home, which gives her an insightful understanding of the design process from numerous perspectives.

Prior to joining the Shelter team, Lisa worked as the principal designer and owner of LA Design North, founded in Wausau, Wisconsin. As an entrepreneur, Lisa’s expansive background includes design purchasing, spatial planning and remodeling, furnishing, and aesthetic coordination. Lisa has a sweet tooth and a lively sense of humor, and she enjoys each unique opportunity to help people with their design needs. She is now based in Minneapolis and continues to offer her talents to the Northwoods and lakeshore communities.

Lisa’s design work with luxury and secondary homes has been featured in Lakeshore Living, Country Home, and Better Homes and Gardens.
