Science House pointed to as a case study of efficient living
In 2003, the Science Museum of Minnesota and Shelter Architecture finished a building in the backyard of the Museum called the Science House. It was designed as a model home for the public to demonstrate how a combination of building layout and energy efficient systems like solar panels and geothermal heating could create a home that creates as much energy as it uses. Fifteen years later, it’s still running smoothly and being enjoyed by museum visitors and staff.
MPR’s Climate Cast caught up with the Museum’s Director of Global Change Initiatives, Pat Hamilton, for a tour – you can listen to the podcast here!
