Science House pointed to as a case study of efficient living
In 2003, the Science Museum of Minnesota and Shelter Architecture finished a building in the backyard of the Museum called the Science House. It was designed as a model home for the public to demonstrate how a combination of building layout and energy efficient systems like solar panels and geothermal heating could create a home that creates as much energy as it uses. Fifteen years later, it’s still running smoothly and being enjoyed by museum visitors and staff.
