French Provincial Kitchen
Focused on the heart of the home, this single-family renovation project’s primary goal was to create a french provincial kitchen with a better connection between the cooking area and dining room. Starting at the back entrance, the home’s original rear entryway felt cramped and lacked storage which prompted the addition of a bump-out to create a seamless transition between the residence’s indoor and outdoor spaces while adding square footage to the floor plan.
We focused on reimagining the home’s smaller footprint to increase flow. To do so, we created a dedicated mudroom entrance and reconfigured the kitchen by moving the stove, adding an island with more seating, rearranging the existing windows to create a pantry and including a wall oven that the owner requested. An appliance garage was also designed in the kitchen to reduce clutter and maximize working space. The dining room got an update as well featuring a custom built-in to match the kitchen cabinets and create visual connection between the spaces.
Design elements in this french provincial kitchen like the real carrara marble countertops and antique-finished cabinets add a touch of elegance to the space while keeping its warm and welcoming feel. The windows and trim throughout the remodel were also carefully selected to match the residence’s original style, adding to the overall flow and consistency in the design, creating a space that’s both refined and comfortable.
