Modern Tudor

This 1930’s Minneapolis Tudor was updated and expanded to create better flow and functionality for a growing family. With an overarching goal of elevating the existing features of the home with fresh, modern touches, this remodel and addition effortlessly marries new with existing.

On the main level, the primary living spaces were opened up to enhance sight lines and flow between the kitchen, dining, and living room. The kitchen cabinets received a fresh coat of paint which brightens the space and complements the existing granite countertops. A new custom vent hood and cross-tile backsplash also help give the space new life. Off of the main living space, the mudroom and garage were also expanded to give the family more storage options. The refreshed mudroom now features rich gray-blue built-in cabinetry and storage cubbies accented with a black hexagonal tile to hide dirt tracked in to the house.

Upstairs, a reconfiguration of the bedrooms allowed for the addition of another bedroom and a dedicated primary suite. The new primary bath is moody and modern with white ceramic shower tile and a black penny round floor that accents the navy painted cabinetry and silver herringbone floor. A custom vanity ledge adds more charm. Throughout the house, clean, white trim and dark stained oak floors create harmony between the existing and updated spaces for a Minneapolis Tudor that feels both timeless and modern.
