Shelter clients continue serving you during social distancing

While you’re sheltering at home and maintaining proper social distance, you can still patronize many of the clients we’ve been fortunate to work with. See how these organizations are providing products and services in innovative ways during challenging times.

Beers are still brewing at Bauhaus Brew Labs.
Food & Drink

Bauhaus Brew Labs

Drive-through service available Sun.-Thu., noon-6 p.m., and Fri.-Sat., noon-8 p.m. Delivery available within 10 miles of the brewery Mon.-Sat., noon-6 p.m. Order growlers, crowlers, nonalcoholic six-packs, merchandise and gift cards through the online swag shop. Beer for sale in area liquor stores.

Bent Paddle Brewing Co.

Open for walk-in takeout or curbside pickup Tue.-Sat., 2-6 p.m. If you bring hearty, nonperishable food items for the Paddle-It-Forward food drive supporting Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, you’ll receive a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) pint card to use when the taproom is back in use. Beer for sale in area liquor stores.

Black Coffee and Waffle Bar

Open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. for takeout. Delivery available through Uber Eats and Grubhub. Purchase options include waffles, brewed beverages and coffee beans (whole or ground).

Fulton Beer

Taproom is closed — with an expansion project under construction. (Check Facebook for photos!) Merchandise for sale on the website. Beer and other products for sale in area liquor stores.

Hot Indian Foods

Delivery and curbside pickup from Midtown Global Market location available daily, 11 a.m.-2p.m. Delivery also available through Bite Squad and DoorDash.


Co-hosting livestreamed Bridge the Gap concert on Mon., April 20, 6-10 p.m., to benefit local artists and hospitality workers. Tickets $11 at During restaurant closure, food delivery — including kids’ menu items — available through DoorDash. Rise Bagel Co.

Closed. Gift cards and T-shirts for sale on its website.

Spice Your Life

The south Minneapolis gourmet spice shop remains open Tue.-Fri., 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sat., 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun., noon-5 p.m. Online orders may be placed for shipping, curbside pickup or free delivery to nearby addresses.

Peace Church (Eau Claire, Wisc.)

Sunday and Wednesday services and Tuesday Bible study sessions are livestreamed and recorded for later viewing. The church’s website provides a way to ask for help or offer to volunteer.

Plymouth Covenant Church

Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday services are livestreamed and available later on demand. Free meals are available for takeout Tuesdays and Saturdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Pastors are also serving people via daily drive-up Curbside Blessing sessions and a 24/7 phone hotline.

Open — with some adjusted hours and appointment policies. Asking pet owners to stay outside the clinic, if possible, during exams. Taking patient histories by phone, bringing medications out to cars, and billing electronically.

Oxbow Hotel and The Lakely

Closed. Gift cards for The Lakely restaurant are available on the business’s website.


Closed for onsite activity. Offering Youth Innovation Lab PLUS, a new at-home immersive education experience with weekly virtual reality content for the whole family. Also available: home rentals of Oculus Go virtual reality headsets and consultations about conducting virtual meetings in new ways. River Prairie Wealth Partners (Altoona, Wisc.)

Open for business. Client meetings conducted by phone or online. Drop-off or pickup of tax documents available; call ahead to arrange a time.

Tamarack Nature Center

Outdoor trails are open, and portable toilets and trash cans are available. Building and play areas, including Discovery Hollow, are closed. Facilitated programming is canceled.

Visit Eau Claire

Experience Center is closed. Information about the Eau Claire community — including links to health- and travel-related resources regarding COVID-19 — are available on the organization’s website.
